Patriots Pen, Voice of Democracy are now out for notification to our local schools, youth organizations (Homeschools, Boy Scouts, Albany Young Marines, etc.)

COMMANDER’S MESSAGE:
Hello, my name is Lonzie Jimmerson III and it is a privilege and an honor to serve as Commander of Post 2785. Upon this nomination/election it is my hope to assist the VFW with a heavier footprint in the Lee, Dougherty, & Dawson areas. After graduating Lee Conty High School in 2003 I enlisted in the United States Air Force, my time in the Military qualifying me for VFW membership includes stops in Korea (Camp Humphreys), Iraq (COB Speicher/Tikrit; Balad; Baghdad and to many more to remember, Afghanistan (FOB PASAB). Although my time in the military was brief it was an experience that brought joy, pain, and COMRADERY. As we move forward in the next season at the VFW, I would like for us to focus more on our Communities and Comradery.
Meet the Commander
As we prepare to celebrate the independence of this nation, I’d like to take the opportunity to welcome all of you to come out on July 4th for an informal meet and great. From the hours of 1600-2000 time will be dedicated for member introductions. Please let me know what you would like to see more of and less of from your local VFW. Our post reputation in the local community could use a makeover, so for all complaints (I welcome them) an attempt at providing a solution would be appreciated. This is OUR Post not just because of our membership dues, this is OUR post based on the sacrifices that we have made. As we focus on community and comradery, I look forward to meeting you all and building on our community also known as the VFW. Stay Safe and enjoy your July 4th weekend!!
