WELCOME TO BARR-ALLEN POST 2785

Dougherty, Lee, Sumter, Terrell Counties and surrounding areas; Calling ALL veterans and FAMILY members of veterans. 
 
VFW POST 2785 In Albany Georgia would welcome your presence. Our post has rich history and it has been bestowed upon us to keep the post going as well as provide a tangible impact for ALL veterans and family members in the greater Dougherty/Lee/Sumter/Terrell Counties. 
 
We are actively implementing a meal train for homebound members, partnering with local church to provide group counseling, Toys for Tots, ASVAB training. The list goes on we need your help and support and ask that if you can please join!!
 
To my fellow veterans; we have served our country now let's serve our local communities!!

Commander's Corner

Commander Lonzie Jiimmerson

First and foremost, to my fellow comrades and their families THANK YOU for your service. I am appreciative, humbled and thankful to have been elected to fulfill this role for the next fiscal year. The VFW is rooted in the notion of veterans taking care of veterans. Over the years Post 2785 has served the greater Dougherty/Lee and surrounding counties well. To the front runners past and present who have gotten us to this point; we are forever grateful. As we enter a new season at VFW Post 2785 I would like us to remain mission focused on our community and those that reside within. I anticipate that you will see more of your local veterans out and about within the community we are looking to get involved and build partnerships and keep taking care of veterans. I am a product of the Lee County School System and for the first 18yrs of my life the greater Lee/Doughtery area was home. I bring to you a plethora of passion for this local community. Like so many other veterans in this area I have served my country for years and as I re-integrate with my hometown the desire to serve remains. I look forward to serving as your Commander and broadening the footprint of VFW Post 2785 Albany, GA
